Join us in Supporting The New England Center for Children
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
-Robert Frost
Last year Patrick walked the entire 3.1 miles of the 2008 NECC 5k WALK! His family and friends were quite proud. He has made great strides over the past year and his cheerful but resilient personality continues to emerge. Much of this progress is due to the tremendous work of the New England Center for Children. Despite his developmental progress, Patrick still has many “miles” to go and that is why we are asking you to help NECC help him keep up the pace.
The difficult times we all face today make us quite naturally focus more on limitations than on what we can achieve. Yet for over 30 years, through boom times and through bad times, the New England Center for Children has been helping individuals with autism reach their full potential - pushing them beyond their initial goals. For children like our son Patrick, the Center represents more than the chance of a lifetime – it is the closest thing we have to a “promise” of social interaction and independence.
Please consider either pledging to, or participating in the 5k Walk/Run.
This year, as a special thanks to those pledging and to Team Patrick participants, we will have a random drawing for 2 tickets to a Boston Red Sox Game (to those Yankee fans, such as Patrick’s mom, we hope you will be forgiving and pledge anyway).
